Dogtown United Attends Dogtown Pop-up at St. James The Greater Gym

Pop Up 2.jpg

On Sunday, September 26, Dogtown Pop Up held their Fall Pop Up market at St. James The Greater Gym. This unique event is held quarterly and features local vendors selling one-of-a-kind goods such as candles, soaps, terrariums, clothing, jewelry, art and more!

The Dogtown United vendor booth offered a selection of free promotional items and encouraged visitors to complete our St. Patrick’s Day Survey. Board members, Joe Jovanovich, Isabel Acevedo, Nikki Stallion Brewer and Kait Kunnemann were in attendance, with a little extra help from some of Dogtown’s younger residents (and future board members).

The next Dogtown Pop Up will be the Holiday Market, held on Sunday, December 12 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. To learn more about Dogtown Pop Up events or how to register as a vendor, click here.

2021 Dogtown Photo-Op Art Installations

Dogtown United has partnered with Painted Black STL (@paintedblackstl), a collective of Black artists in St. Louis, to commission four free-standing murals for families to take pictures with throughout Dogtown.

St. Pat's Day Dogtown is by Jessie Donovan (@jessie.dnvn) and welcomes people into Dogtown at Dewey International Studies School, on the corner of Clayton and Central.

Eugenia Alexander (@eugeniaalexand) was inspired by Ireland's beauty. Per the artist "All of these plants are native Irish plants. You know me I’m the plant lady 🥰 and I didn’t want to go traditional st Patrick’s day art but more of a representation of Ireland and it’s beauty." This 7ft mural is located in St. James the Greater School.
Kyla Hawkins (@khawkart2.0) painted Brigid the Celtic goddess of fire, creation, & poetry. The mural is located at Wilkinson Early Childhood Center, on Prather. From her Insta: Kyla is "a realistic portrait artist breaking into POP SURREALISM".

Shockin' Shamrock is a fictional Dogtown superhero created by Tyler Harris (@e7_t.a.s.h). It is located on the backlot at The Pat Connolly Tavern.

2020 St. Patrick's Day Parade & Irish Festival is Postponed

Dogtown United has partnered with the Ancient Order of the Hibernians to jointly plan the annual parade and  Dogtown Irish Festival in 2020. The decision to postpone was made jointly with the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Alderman Bret Narayan, and the City of St. Louis.

Due to the event’s postponement any past event posts or updates are no longer accurate. There will be NO OUTDOOR PROGRAMMING on March 17, 2020 in Dogtown.

This means there will be no street closures, no additional dumpsters, no additional outdoor security, no mandated no-parking zones, no outdoor bars, no outdoor vendors, and no outdoor entertainment. If you have questions about what will be happening in the neighborhood on March 17, please email dogtownunited@gmail.com.
